Finding Peace in the every day

Daily writing prompt
What brings you peace?

I’ve been wanting to sit down and write a blog post for a while… but when you take a break from writing, it can be hard to jump in again and to find the words. That’s why I am using a daily writing prompt to get me started again.

Today’s prompt is “what brings you peace?” I have a feeling my answer might be “incorrect” to some; however it makes sense to me.

I find peace in moments each and every day.

Most days peace is taking 30 minutes to walk outside in the sunshine and listen to a podcast.

Some days peace is crossing off all the items on my to do list.

Some days peace is felt by sitting outside and reading an interesting book.

Some days peace is brought by feeling the sand beneath my toes, sipping on a cup of tea, walking around a farmers market, doing what I feel like, and not being in a rush.

Some days peace is having nothing to do, a moment to be bored and sit with my thoughts, or a rare entire day of relaxation.

Overall, I think peace is not feeling pressured, not feeling in a state of fight or flight, not feeling in a response mindset. It’s turning off notifications, knowing that nothing is urgent, and taking time to just be.

There may be chaos all around you, but you can still find peace in the little moments each and every day.
