Discover Key West: Must-See Spots

Had a great weekend in Key West, filled with sunshine and adventure, and I’m excited to share some must-do activities for travelers planning a visit. From exploring the vibrant local culture to relaxing on the stunning beaches, there’s something for everyone in this tropical paradise.

First up: the iconic Southernmost Point buoy, it’s exactly what it says it is LOL. This vibrant landmark stands proudly as a testament to the southernmost tip of the continental United States, drawing visitors from all over the world who are eager to capture the perfect moment. The line for a photo wrapped around the block, but you can capture sideview photos.

Next is Duval Street bites + drinks! A few of our faves include Hogs Breath Saloon, where you can enjoy the lively atmosphere that Vince Vaughn famously showcased by wearing the shirt in Bad Monkey, as well as Sloppy Joe’s, a historic bar with a rich legacy just waiting to be explored. Don’t forget to stop by Irish Kevin’s for some great live music and a friendly vibe, or take a break at Amigos, where you can enjoy delicious margaritas and tasty chips and guac. Finally, Whistle Bar offers a unique setting to unwind and sip on cocktails from the second floor outdoor balcony. If you love seafood and frozen cocktails, Key West is your paradise, brimming with fresh catches and refreshing drinks. Make sure to try a slice of the Key Lime Pie from the Key Lime Pie Bakery (since 1856!) this slice was a solid 10/10.

Next up is The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory. It’s filled with so many fluttering butterflies, vibrant flamingos, beautiful birds, and tropical vibes that it feels like entering a living postcard. One butterfly even hitched a ride with Thomas. As you stroll through the conservatory, the calming music blends beautifully with the lush greenery, while the 80° greenhouse humidity envelops you, making it feel like stepping into a peaceful dream. The vivid colors of the butterflies are mesmerizing, while the flamingos strut gracefully, adding to the picturesque setting. Tip: Save $ by buying your ticket online to make the most of this enchanting experience.

If you love cats and reading, you have to hangout at the Hemingway home!
Surrounded by 57 adorable cats, all descendants of Ernest Hemingway’s beloved cat Snow White from the 1930s. Many of them have 6 toes (Polydactyl) ! The tour is a purr-fect spot in Key West for history buffs, bookworms, and feline fans.

One thing about Key West is that roosters roam free and loud here, so no alarm clock needed. And of course, grab some cute merch before heading home!
