Embracing Analog Living and Minimalism This Year

Calling it now: we’re embracing analog living and minimalism this year. Since the new year actually starts today, if you know, you know (IYKYK), and I’m always right. ha ha, just kidding!

It’s Springtime: flowers are blooming, pollen count is high, and summer is just around the corner. I look forward to either being spot on with my predictions or completely off track, but why not give it a try, right?

Here are my 3 predictions:

  1. Analog living: We’re logging off and living in the real world. Partly because of content overload, partly because who cares about pop culture, but also because people crave actual human connection.
  2. Minimalism: Less “add to cart,” more “add to life.” People will care less about the latest haul from Target and more about enjoying each day and doing fun things.
  3. Human-crafted: Supporting creators, small businesses, and those who are creating, not generating.

If I’m right, I’ll remind you in a year. If I’m wrong… no I’m not and this post never happened.

Fun tidbit: Back in 1582, Pope Gregory XIII introduced the calendar we all rely on today, ditching the Julian Calendar and shuffling New Year’s Day from April 1 to January 1. However, the switcheroo wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Some individuals and regions clung to the other calendar, continuing to celebrate New Year’s on April 1. As a result, those who remained loyal to the Julian Calendar were dubbed “APRIL FOOL.”
