The Shift to Analog and Minimalism: New Year Predictions

(since we all know it starts in March and I am always right haha jk jk )

It’s the end of March, so the new year has begun. If you know you know. It’s Spring-flowers are blooming, seasonal allergies are here, summer is around the corner, and the tree pollen count is high. I believe we are going to see a major shift this year. People are waking up, questioning everything, and starting to see life as it is not as we have been told it should be. Let’s dive into my predictions and I look forward to either being SPOT ON or completely wrong in a year… but why not try, right?

  1. Analog living. Offline is the new luxury. Less time on the tele (both phone and vision): People will get off their devices and live in the real world. Partly because the news cycle is so overwhelming, partly because who cares about pop culture, but also because people crave real world connections.

2. Minimalism. Less stuff. Less shopping hauls. Declutter and clarify your life. This year people will care less about what’s new at Target and what seasonal items they should purchase and will save money or spend it on experiences instead.

3. Human-crafted. There’s a rising fatigue around AI-generated work and a renewed desire for realness. Everyone is “thrilled to announce/in this ever changing landscape” on LinkedIn, videos and photos are ai-generated. People can’t tell what’s real anymore. There’s going to be a shift to supporting small businesses and real people who create vs. generate.

There you have it folks. As we approach the new year, it’s a great time to reflect on the changes we’ve experienced and anticipate what’s to come. Tell me in the comments if you expect these changes in the new year too.
