Are you wondering how may posts you need to share each week to grow your engagement? We are sharing how often to post on Instagram.
Are you looking to grow your following or engagement this year? I recently unfollowed some accounts and removed some others. My goal is to increase engagement and to strengthen the relationships that I have with my network. What’s yours?
If you are curious how often you need to post, I think a good place to start is on quality and not quantity. You can share a lot of content… but if it doesn’t educate, entertain, or inform your following, it might not resonate well with your audience and it might do more harm than good. The more consistent you post, the better chance your audience has at getting to know you. It’s important to show up on your stories and posts to keep the connection going and to build personal brand awareness.
Now I am not an expert on this, but here are some tidbits that I have gathered from my research. Later, an online social media management software, analyzed over 19M Instagram feed posts and 32K Instagram Stories to determine the average posting cadence.
After analyzing over 19M Instagram feed posts (images, carousels, videos, and Reels) from January 1, 2023 to October 1, 2023, Later found that users with:
- Nano accounts (0-10K followers) post an average of 2 feed posts per week
- Micro accounts (10K-100K followers) post an average of 3 feed posts per week
- Mid accounts (100K-500K followers) post an average of 5 feed posts per week
I was a micro account for a few years at 10k and over; however, now I am now in the nano account category, which is actually very useful for engagement purposes. Having a smaller amount of real, engaged followers beats having a larger following that may be less interested or inactive.
Does that mean you have to post 2,3, or 5 feed posts a week? No way. It is a great way to gauge where your content quantity range should be, but if you are looking to grow- the more high quality content the better.
