Didn’t realize birdwatching would become one of my personality traits in my 30s, yet here we are. Let’s take a little stroll through the Viera Wetlands, where Thomas and I spent the afternoon pretending I was on assignment for National Geographic.
Featuring:
The spicy little red-winged blackbird
A very Floridian American alligator… this is MY swamp (Shrek)
The great blue heron, serving elegance
The northern crested caracara and its impressive lil hairdo
A raccoon (not Rocket, but still a star)
The great egret (lotta greats around here)

Slowing down, wandering around with a camera, and getting excited about birds is actually a pretty good way to spend an afternoon.
Plus, it’s near Costco.
