Is your Sunscreen Safe?!

I held a little morning trivia on my Instagram stories regarding sunscreen. Let me try it out on here too…

If you answered TRUE, you are correct. You may not know this, but sunscreen contains ingredients harmful to not only the environment but also your PERSONAL health. Isn’t it crazy how something that you use everyday and something that is supposed to be good for you… actually might not be?

Well, you are in luck. There is a great solution to this problem and that solution was developed by a company called Raw Elements USA.

I tried three of their products and as always, I would like to provide my honest review.

1. Face + Body 30 + Tube: This tube is perfect for all over application. The consistency is thicker than most sunscreens, but it lasts! I used it all day while I was surfing and swimming in Long Beach Island NJ.
2. Tinted Face Moisturizer 30 + Tin (Plastic Free!) : Very easy to apply! Simply rub some on your fingers and apply like you would with face make up. The consistency is thick, and reminds me of a wax. The tint is a very nice natural look! I also really like that no plastic is used in the packaging.
3. Herbal Rescue Lip Balm: The sun can really dry out your lips. This natural product is perfect for hydrating your lips and protecting them from the sun.

Overall, these products are now staple items in my beach bag. The thicker consistency is a bit different than the typical sunscreen, and I like it so much better! Most sunscreen seems to just run off-especially if you apply when you just get out of the water. The face tin is compact and easy to keep with you in your pocket or beach bag for reapplication.
