Local Greek Breakfast

What better way to start the weekend than with a delicious breakfast in Princeton, NJ!? This weekend, I spent Saturday morning at Local Greek NJ.

The service was great, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Our waitress and the entire staff were extremely friendly and really made us feel at home. Thomas and I ordered different options to give you an idea of the variety offered at this unique restaurant.

I ordered “The Super Greek,” which consists of eggs, onions, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta, mushrooms, and avocado, and is drizzled with homemade ouzo sauce. It was a macro-friendly protein-packed option, and it did not disappoint. The order comes out in a skillet and was served warm. The avocado and mushrooms really made this dish unique!

Thomas ordered the “Local Waffle,” which includes four pieces of waffle with fruit, Greek honey, and a side of Greek yogurt. He really enjoyed this sweet and tasty breakfast. The presentation was also very lovely! Look at that powdered sugar!

For dessert, I could not resist ordering a Greek pastry. (Who says you can not have dessert after breakfast?!) We split the “bougasta,” which is homemade dough filled with semolina custard topped with cinnamon and sugar… SO YUM. It was served very warm and was super delicious! The texture was similar to a very soft doughnut, and the flakey crust made the pastry very unique!

If you are visiting Princeton, I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. There is easily accessible street parking, indoor and outdoor seating, an extensive menu, great service and a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well. What a great way to start our day! Thank you, Local Greek NJ; I will definitely be back!
