Looking for a sweet treat in the afternoon before or after dinner? Protein bars and fitness products in general can be super overwhelming…but, girl I got you! I reached out to NuGo after truly admiring the quality and macronutrients of their slim bars product line. I pick these up frequently at Wegman’s, and realized just how perfectly they align with my “Fitness Friday’s” tips and tricks. I hope this post shares some value on protein bars and why I chose this brand as one of my favorites.

NuGo has a wide product line and a variety of flavors, so head over to their website to see which flavor works for you! NuGo Slim Chocolate Mint flavor is my personal favorite. Why? To me, it tastes like a thin mint cookie… yummy… and it has excellent macros!
I chose the Slim protein bar line because of its low sugar, low net carb, and overall excellent macronutrients.
What are macronutrients?
I do not count macronutrients; however, I am conscious of my consumption throughout the day. I workout M-F and I am active 7 days a week, so I try to consume a great amount of protein to fuel my muscles, carbs for energy, and fat to sustain my hunger.
These bars are a great way to refuel after a workout. The high fiber content helps keep me fuller longer, so I can wait until my next meal. It tastes like a treat to me, probably because it is made with REAL dark chocolate.
