Ladies, sunflower field season is upon us! It’s time to get out there, get muddy, sweaty, and do what you gotta do to get those pictures. Sunflower fields make great photo spots, but they also make for a great place to catch up with friends and family, and to celebrate summer. It’s here, and let me tell you it’s HOT.
My beautiful best friend Anna and I headed to the Happy Day Farm in NJ to see this beautiful sunflower field. Anna is a boss lady, and she runs a pretty busy schedule. It is always nice to catch up and to get inspired by each other. Our conversations really spark ideas and fuel our passions to do more, see more, and be more.
We explored the field, talked about life, and took some really rad photos.
Sunflowers are unique flowers. They point towards the sun, and let the shadows fall behind them. Think about that for a second. If you surround yourself with the sunny positive vibes and let the negative fall behind you, you will grow. If you focus on the negatives, the darkness will not let you grow. They follow the sun from east to west, and just like these beauties, we should follow the sun too. Stay golden, focus on you and stay in your own lane.
Did you know that a sunflower head is made up of 1000 to 2000 individual flowers? They are actually joined at the base. I thought about this from a theoretical standpoint, comparing the sunflower head to your own head/your own brain. What thoughts do you have? Are you planting the seeds/having flower petals grow? You have SO many thoughts throughout the course of one day. Are you acting on these thoughts? Make this space a good one.
There are more than 60 varieties of sunflowers throughout the world in different shades. We live in a diverse world, we’re all different, we’re all beautiful.
Flowers do not compare themselves with the flower next to them, they focus on themselves. They bloom. Keep blooming, stay in your own lane. Focus on you.
Sunflowers bloom in the summer. They do not bloom all year. Just think, you do not have to bloom all year. We all go through different seasons- some better than others. Remember that if this is not your season, it will pass. The best is yet to come. You are about to bloom!
This sunflower field trip was a good one. Whether you want to think about it a bit deeper or you just want to enjoy the sights, I recommend taking a trip while you can. Sometimes we need to step back and enjoy the little things. The sunshine, the dirty sneakers, and the yellow petals. There’s something about them isn’t there…? Just like there is something about you. You’re unique, beautiful, and going to bloom. Keep going.
