This weekend, we attended the New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport.
The festival ran from Friday through Sunday with balloon ascensions at 6:30 am and 6:30 pm daily. From the delicious festival food to the ice cold beers to the music and more, we had a great time! Thomas and I enjoyed the Island Noodles for dinner, and split a funnel cake for dessert.
There were lots of people in attendance, all eager to see some hot air balloons. Unfortunately due to weather on Saturday night, the balloons did not go up. On Sunday morning, a handful of balloons made it into the sky. It was such a pretty sight and I hope to have the opportunity to go up in one someday.
Barenaked Ladies preformed on Saturday night and sounded great! While I knew a few songs prior, I definitely need to download some more songs off their new album!
Overall it was a fun weekend at the New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning, full of adventure, good food, cold drinks, and good vibes.
Attending the festival tonight? or maybe next year? Here are a few MUST brings:
1. Camera/Tripod! You are going to want to capture the gorgeous balloons!
2. CASH! Most vendors for food only take cash.
3. Cell Phone External Battery Charger. I did not have service while at the festival, so my phone battery ran out really fast.
4. Sunglasses! It can be super bright!
