To say the least, the shampoo and conditioner aisle is overwhelming. There are so many different brands all geared towards different hair types and desired styles. I often find myself asking these questions- Are they really different? Are more expensive brands better? Will this shampoo really help my hair grow?! Will this one strengthen my hair? We are often swayed by unique packaging and creative advertising, but does better marketing really mean a better product? As a marketing manager, I genuinely enjoy learning more about consumer purchases, but in reality- the world may never know the answer to this question.
I recently partnered with a company called, “Formulate” to review and showcase their new custom products- personalized shampoo and conditioner. I agreed to partner with them because A.) I found this concept interesting. We all use shampoo/conditioner but everyone has different hair. B.) I really wanted to try it and let you know how it works!
The Formulate Process is fairly simple. To begin, access their website and select “get your formula.” You are prompted to answer some questions about your current hair style as well as some goals that you would like to achieve with your shampoo and conditioner. This questionnaire was quick, but really covered the basis of my hair currently and what I hope to accomplish. After answering some questions, you will then select the scent of your shampoo and conditioner. Being the coastal girl that I am, I selected “tidal.”
Your custom shampoo and conditioner then arrives at your doorstep, making this process even easier! No need to take a trip to the store.
I received my custom shampoo and conditioner in a lovely little package, and I was so excited to try it out!
Inside each box is a card. Your custom card lists your current hair situation, your hair goals, how to use your new shampoo and conditioner and all the ingredients in your personalized shampoo and conditioner.
I have been using formulate for a little over a week, and so far, so good. My hair already feels thicker and healthier. I also find myself not needing to wash my hair as much, which means LESS time blow drying/straightening and more time enjoying life! Here is a quick before and after. I washed my hair before a nice hike outside. (Can not believe how dark my hair is getting…)
My friends and family have complimented on how great my hair smells! If you are stuck on a scent to select, I recommend “tidal.” It smells great, and is evergreen as you can use it year round.
Overall, my hair goals for Formulate are to strengthen, grow and nourish my hair during these cold months. So far, I am really enjoying this formula. So much so…
