Recently, I partnered with Arctic Zero to try their new dairy-free flavors. Thomas is lactose intolerant and I am basically addicted to ice cream, so we were both very excited to try this dairy-free option.
This gifted cooler full of fun flavors showed up at my doorstep:
The cooler included the following flavors: Salted Caramel, Cookie Shake, Purely Chocolate, and Hint of Mint. I decided to taste test the Cookie Shake and Hint of Mint, while Thomas opted for the Salted Caramel and Purely Chocolate. It is important to let the ice cream thaw out before consuming- it totally changes the experience!
Needless to say, Thomas really enjoyed the Salted Caramel and ate it in one sitting. Since he is lactose intolerant, he plans to consume these pints all summer long!
I love ice cream and consume it frequently. While I enjoyed trying these flavors, I did notice a taste difference between these and a normal ice cream. Rather than replacing my ice cream consumption with non-dairy options, I have decided to incorporate these into my diet. They are yummy and I enjoy having them as a better choice than a sweet treat.
Thomas LOVED the pints and I like them; however we both took note of the most important aspect: no bloating or upset stomachs afterwards. It is swimsuit season after all, and to keep my tummy flat I avoid consuming dairy (at least before I wear a bikini).
The pints are also low in calories. For the Salted Caramel pint, 1/2 cup serving is only 40 calories! There are 9 grams of carbs minus 4 g of fiber= 5 net carbs per serving. There are only 5 grams of sugar as well!
Overall, if you suffer from lactose-intolerance or if you are trying to make a healthy ice cream swap this summer, I recommend trying these new non-dairy pints.
