What to Have for Lunch?

Recently, I partnered with the Salad House to showcase some healthy options off their menu. The Salad House is a local restaurant with a few locations across New Jersey. If you are located near one, I highly recommend checking it out! The service is quick and the food is delicious.

IMG_0477While the menu contains numerous delicious items, I wanted to showcase a few simple healthy and fun options for you to enjoy.

For lunch, yours truly started with an appetizer of Avocado Fritters with a spicy dipping sauce:

These were super filling, so I only had like one full fritter and shared the rest. The avocado provides healthy fats to help keep you fuller longer. While the fried aspect is not the healthiest option, I believe it is okay to treat yourself.

For lunch, I enjoyed the Fit and Fueled Salad. This salad was PACKED with protein and perfect way to refuel after a good workout. I always ask for the dressing on the side. I learned that back in high school. It is a great way to control the calorie consumption and to avoid soggy lettuce.

Now for dessert, which I do not typically have after lunch.. but why not right? The chocolate frosty milkshake was AMAZING. Probably my favorite part of the entire meal. They offer happy hours on these, and they are half price then! Personally, I consume whey protein. This is a dairy-based protein.

Overall, I always look for options that are high in protein, low in sugar, and high in fiber. The Fit and Fueled salad really aligns with my macros and the other options were fun bonuses. I was so full after this, but full of all good things!
